Andis has always had a love for wood, but he especially vividly remembers visiting friends in an ancient log cabin on the seashore in 2000. This gave him the impetus to build his summer house in Melnsils from wood. These wooden houses gave him the right feeling, so later, together with his brother, he also developed the well-known Melnsils camping and guest houses, using real wood. Andis put his whole soul into these buildings – they were equipped with authentic wooden furniture made by local craftsmen, creating an environment where authenticity and harmony reign. Andis has no compromises, he only loves real and solid things. And they are made of wood.
Constantly being in construction processes in so many objects, there is a lot of wood scrap left over that it is a pity to throw away. Similarly, wind and beavers occasionally destroy the hundred-year-old sea buckthorn grove in Labeši, which knocks down many trees, so now Andis's relationship with wood has grown into a new expression - wooden lamps. Each lamp Andis has made with the same care and love that was once invested in the first log houses. It is light that comes not only from the bulb, but also from the wood itself - warm, natural and alive.
Today, Andis continues to work with wood not only as a material, but as a friend. Each lamp he creates is proof that wood can be not only the foundation of a house, but also a source of warmth and coziness in everyday life.
